Diffusion panels are located at the rear of the room where all acoustic air vibrations are collected after travelling past the listener. Diffuser panels are designed to break sound apart and scatter them into pieces by directing them into a cavity. Diffuser panels are quite deep cavities that control frequencies and therefore need at least a foot of depth on the back wall. This depth will vary based on the response of the room itself and the frequencies that are problematic to that space alone.
